Spotlight On: THE STARTOVER

THE STARTOVER are a high-energy four-piece UK pop-punk band on Engineer Records. The group is currently promoting a three song EP as a prelude to a full-length out later this year. Several hook-laden songs are currently populating their MySpace page. RIYL: early PLAIN WHITE T’s, HIT THE LIGHTS, and FALL OUT BOY (of course).

THE KILLER – “Not All Who Are Lost….Want To Be Found”

It’s really strange being a nerdy kid in the hardcore scene. Occasionally, bands will come along that I just do not get. EARTH CRISIS and INTEGRITY leap to mind. Burly, blunt hardcore meant to pulverize with tough lyrics and a fighting demeanor, could describe any of the bands in the post-chugga chugga genre, but THE [...]

HIGHER GIANT – “The First Five”

Of the few musical truisms that I guide my life, few are as reliable as my affinity for the music of Ernie Parada. Stillborn Signs ABOLISH

Stillborn Records has signed the South Florida metallic hardcore band ABOLISH. The group will be heading into the studio soon to record a full-length titled Beyond Redemption, due out this Fall. More information about the band can be found on their MySpace page (but no songs?).

REIGN SUPREME – “Testing The Limits of Infinite”

Reign Supreme have always been a band I’ve felt torn about.  It seems with each aspect of their band I absolutely love, there’s an equally as disappointing aspect as well.  Without listing all the band’s pros and cons, I will say their music continually impresses me, but I’ve seen singer Jay Pepito throw more on-stage [...]
