Scott Weiland, no matter how drugged up he is, continues to be one of the best vocalists ever.

THE ROCKING HORSE WINNER “S/T”

I’d just like to start off this review by saying that the name of this band is purely ridiculous. What the hell does THE ROCKING HORSE WINNER mean? I think this band would be much cooler sounding if it was named after their awesome vocalist, Jolie Lindholm. And another thing – what in the hell [...]

REACH THE SKY “The Transient Hearts EP”

This EP is a somewhat limited edition disc (only 4000 copies) that’s availabe from the band directly or through a few websites. “The Transient Hearts” finds REACH THE SKY at a crossroad once again – full of melodic touches, but just as fast and furious as traditional East Coast hardcore. The band’s last disc “Friends, [...]

Not typed in blood…

1) The artwork on the new CONVERGE DVD is incredible.

2) The new THROWDOWN disc, "Haymaker" has some of the heaviest production I've ever heard on a hardcore disc yet. However, the band's new songs sound a heck of a lot like HATEBREED.

3) I would have never thought there would be a day where I'd see a press release for a THROWDOWN disc containing the line "With guest vocals from Chad Gilbert of New Found Glory."

4) THE MARS VOLTA and VENDETTA RED new releases are priced at $6.99 starting on Tuesday at both Circuit City and Best Buy. In addition, perhaps the best hardcore disc of the year – BELOVED's "Failure On," hits stores tomorrow as well.

5) I will not forget the grief that Armando Benetiz has caused. Never.

6) If anyone's going to Krazyfest 6 and wants to submit a review of it to Pastepunk, that would be totally rad.

7) Jade plants are almost indestructable.

REMEMBERING NEVER “Suffocates My Words To You”

About a week before this came in the mail, I had read of this band signing to the killer Ferret Records label. I hadn’t heard of them before and went on a quick mp3 search, which ended in dissapoint. Fortunately, Onedaysavior read my mind and just happen to get a copy of their debut MCD [...]

RINGWORM “Birth Is Pain”

There was a time when Victory Records was pretty much the great leader of putting out vicious, metallic hardcore music and delivering it to a wide audience. The days of INTEGRITY, SNAPCASE, STRIFE, EARTH CRISIS, and so forth, ruling the land, are pretty much gone (with the exception of SNAPCASE), and Victory, as most of [...]

THE REUNION SHOW “The Motion EP”

Somehow I just don’t understand how someone in the epic Long Island ska/punk act EDNA’s GOLDFISH could end up in a poppy, keyboard-rock type band as THE REUNION SHOW, but it’s happened, and the end result is pretty cool. Normally, this mid-paced stuff is not my number one choice of style, but there’s a lot [...]
