Anyone remember TRIPFACE?

So I got a lot of my older punk and hardcore cds back this past weekend from my parent's house, and of the gems I found in there was "Somepart Sorrow," by the LIHC band, TRIPFACE. These guys broke up, probably like four years ago, and that's about how long it's been since I listened to this, but wow, their brand of metallic hardcore sounds just as fresh now as it did when I first heard it. Sure, the recording sucked when it first came out, and of course, it still sucks now, but there's a certain kind of personal flavor to it that I see missing in a lot of current hardcore bands. If you can find this, or have it and have ignored it for a long time, give it a spin.

THE GAMITS “Endorsed By You”

Wow, Colorado has quite the killer band in these guys. I’d be foolish to say that THE GAMITS have an original sound, because, well, they don’t, but boy is their enthusiasm high…For some reason, their vocalist reminds me of both Billie Joe from GREEN DAY and Dan of ALKALINE TRIO at times, and their rhythm [...]

THE GAMITS “A Small Price to Pay”

If you haven’t heard of THE GAMITS yet, trust me, you will soon. Ever since I heard them for the first time almost a year ago, their debut full length, “Endoresed By You,” has been a staple on the stereo, and I’ve been thirsty for me. Thankfully these guys answered my call with a seven [...]

Ikara Colt streaming shazizzle…

Why Epitaph Records has always ruled and will continue to rule indefinitely: You can now stream the upcoming IKARA COLT album from the Epitaph.com site. Unfortunately, it's in real audio (software made by the devil), but the disc is incredibly good, and I highly encourage y'all to listen.

GAMEFACE “Always On”

Arrrg…I hate when this happens. GAMEFACE has been a pretty amazing band since their inception, claiming one of the few “elite” spots in pop-punk song writing skills and melody construction. Their previous album, “Every Last Time,” was pretty much in the realm of amazing, considering the fact that it took the band three years to [...]
