Stream: THE AFTERPARTY – “Sticks and Stones”

From the inbox:

Forming in early 2009, South Coast (UK) rockers THE AFTERPARTY have recently added the finishing touches to their debut studio offering Restless with producer Matty O’Grady (You Me At Six, Deaf Havana).

The four track EP will feature lead track “Sticks & Stones” and new single “So Much To Say”, and is scheduled for release on July 2nd 2012 via Engineer Records.

Vocalist Nic Matthews revealed that Restless is “a record we’re all super proud of. We set out to write some honest, catchy rock songs and feel it’s the best material we’ve written to date. The tracks have got big singalong choruses, tons of energy and a great feel good vibe. We can’t wait for people to hear the new material and get back on tour.”

- I’m not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but the band’s music totally befits their band name.

Stream: SUMMER CAMP – “Always”

- Charming UK electro-pop, fitting for the start of a holiday weekend. “Always” is the title-track from their forthcoming EP. The EP will be released on July 10th in North America (7/9 in UK/Europe) by Apricot Recording Company/ Moshi Moshi Records.

Stream: GATES – “Like This You Mean”

- Compelling emo/ambient rock from this New Jersey five-piece. Song started a little slow for me but turned into this building, feel the moment kind of thing. GATES’ new full-length You Are All You Have Left to Fear will be out on May 29th.

Stream: THE TOWER AND THE FOOL – “How Long”

- (1) I slept on this release way too long (if that can be said for something that’s barely a month old); (2) It’s ballsy to put your catchiest song as the second to last track; (3) Has anyone made a LIMBECK comparison yet? (4) Props to Run For Cover for moving, way, waaaaaaay, outside of their initial comfort zone with this release, and the ANNE signing.

THE ALLIGATORS – “Time’s Up, You’re Dead”

There’s a mismatch in my head of a hardcore project-band named THE ALLIGATORS that’s features famed-AGNOSTIC FRONT leader Roger Miret and is backed by the rhythm section of the legendary California hardcore outfit INSTED. Maybe it’s the visual of Miret decked out in Lacoste attire as he holds someone in a headlock during casual conversation. [...]

WORMROT Release Updated “Noise” EP on iTunes

From the inbox:

Singaporean grindcore trio WORMROT have released their Noise EP on iTunes, including an extra track not featured on the original release.

The Noise EP was originally released in 2011 in collaboration with Scion, and is now available with a unique cover of Texan indie-rockers EISLEY’s “Many Funerals”.

WORMROT guitarist Rasyid explains why the band chose to cover the track:

“Eisley’s been our guilty pleasure ever since I found out about them from a friend who covers their songs in church performances. I brought the riffs to the practice room without telling the rest it’s actually a cover. It turned out better than expected! The EP title, Noise, is actually a nod to Eisley’s Room Noises album.”

You can pick up the release here.

 - WORMROT rule. Grind for those like a little bit of chaotic, scream hardcore splash around the edges.

New SUPERTOUCH Song “I Miss Her” Surfaces
