Hopeless Signs FOR THE FOXES

Hopeless Records has added New Jersey pop-rock trio FOR THE FOXES to its roster. The band has recently debuted a new song “Where The Heartache Is” on their MySpace page (via YouTube via embed), and will be on the road with VALENCIA and AUTOMATIC LOVELETTER starting later this week.

RUN WITH THE HUNTED Debut New Song

Panic Records’ RUN WITH THE HUNTED have added the new song “Double Zero” to their Facebook page. The bruising 90s style hardcore band will be releasing a self-titled full-length on November 23rd. The band last released a ‘collection’ CD of their earlier material in 2009 on Italy’s Refoundation Records. RIYL: THE HOPE CONSPIRACY, INDECISION, SHAI HULUD.

POLAR BEAR CLUB Cover BAD RELIGION

Spin and MySpace’s joint digital tribute compilation to BAD RELIGION, Germs of Perfection, hit things off on Monday with TEGAN & SARA performing “Suffer” and today’s jam is from upstate New York post-hardcore mainstays POLAR BEAR CLUB with “Better Off Dead” (off of Stranger Than Fiction). This one’s a winner – check it out on the band’s MySpace page. Details about the whole project can be found here.

Song of the Day: ABOVE THIS FIRE – “To The Wolves”

- Song is from their 2009 full-length Last Ones. I highly recommend their 2005 release, Perspective via Life Sentence Records.

Barrett Inks Instrumental Band LIGHTS AT SEA

Michigan based Barrett Records will be working with Mind Over Matter Records to release Palace Walls, the upcoming full-length from Grand Rapids instrumental/dramatic post-punk band LIGHTS AT SEA. The effort will be made available on CD, vinyl and digital formats, and you can stream the brand new song “This Is A House of Learned Doctors” below. Look for Palace Walls in stores in November.

CIRCA SURVIVE On Daytrotter!

CIRCA SURVIVE dropped by Daytrotter’s recording studio a little while and performed four songs from their 2010 full-length Blue Sky Noise. The resulting tracks are of the usual super high quality, and you can stream/download them here.

This Post Is About A T-Shirt

While State of Mind is putting on the finishing touches to the upcoming KRAKDOWN discography LP, the label has put together a new official band shirt that pays homage to their past. From the label: “For the first time in years there is a official KRAKDOWN t-shirt again. This is a little taste, a trip down memory lane to hold old school 80’s NYHC fans over until the LP comes out. The t-shirt features a picture of Richie (Guitarist) skating and was originally used for their 7” on Common Cause. This NYHC legendary band should never be forgotten. Members also spent time in TOKEN ENTRY, CRUMBSUCKERS, MURPHY’S LAW and more.” You can view the shirt here, and listen to the song “We Need A Change” on the still-new State of Mind Bandcamp sampler.

Spotlight On: MOVE FORWARD

Phoenix AZ melodic hardcore band MOVE FORWARD have just released their new 7″ The Cost of Living. It’s the follow-up  release to their 2009 EP Get Us Outta Here, and their 2008 demo, Progression. The title track to the EP can be streamed on their beautifully designed MySpace page. RIYL: BLUE MONDAY, SINKING SHIPS, THIS IS HELL.

- If you’re going through the songs on their player, definitely listen to “Blood From Stone”. Quality stuff. The band is promising an eventual full-length recording, so keep an eye out for that.
