ONE NIGHT BAND “Way Back Home”

Everyone at Pastepunk reviews records because they love music, but the constant deluge of new CDs, bothersome publicists and the responsibilities of life result in short attention spans. A great record or an awful record will show its colors almost immediately, but short attention spans can result in subtler records never getting a chance to [...]

RADIOHEAD Finish Album; Will Release New Album in 10 Days; Rick Rubin’s Head To Explode

RADIOHEAD. You may have heard of them. They just finished recording their new album less than week ago. It will be available for download on October 10th from their website, Radiohead.com, where you can also pre-order a special vinyl set. The best part? When you checkout with the digital download, you can pay however much you want for it. Brilliant. Simply brilliant.

ENVY ON THE COAST “S/T”

ENVY ON THE COAST pretty much sprung up out of nowhere to land major tours with acts like 30 SECONDS TO MARS, ANGELS AND AIRWAVES, and HEAD AUTOMATICA despite the fact that they hadn’t properly released an album. Signed to the up-start label Photo Finish Records, ENVY ON THE COAST plays fairly standard rock music [...]

New Song From ALIVE IN WILD PAINT

Equal Vision act GOODBYE TOMORROW recently changed its name to ALIVE IN WILD PAINT. The group has posted the title track from their upcoming release Cielings here. Look for the album to hit the market in January 2007.

- Maybe I sound lame, but that is such a pretty band name.

Spotlight On: OLEHOLE

Brian from PunkNews.org recently brought to our attention a new full-band outfit from Brian Moss (HANALEI, ex-THE GHOST). The band is called OLEHOLE and also features Dan Wedgewood (ex-Burial Year/Quest For Quintanaroo), Jackson Blumgart (ex-Quest For Quintanaroo), and Alex Case. The five songs currently streaming at their MySpace are ridiculously promising. There are definitely elements of THE GHOST (most likely due to the raw feel of the recording and, of course, Moss’ agitated vocals) to be heard here, but they aren’t simply rehashing that band’s music either. Check it out for yourself.
