THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS Post Another Track

Is there any way to say the above headline in a more straight-forward sentence?

Triple Crown’s THE RECEIVING END OF SIRENS have posted the song “”The Evidence”" to their pureVOLUME site. The track comes from their recently released album, Between The Heart and the Synapse.

- I was just listening to this album last night… the whole thing is a little over the top with almost 70 minutes of music, but “”The Evidence”" is definitely one of better tracks to the thing, and it stands out nicely on its own.

66 THOUSAND MILES PER HOUR (Comic Book) “Issues #0 and #1″

The long-standing relationship between punk rock and comic books is nothing new – plenty of common cultural elements are shared by these two forms of cultural expression. And as two genres once almost exclusively the domain of nerds, both comics and punk rock have undeniably fused themselves well into the forefront of what people think [...]

Ex-SILENT MAJORITY, REFORMATION Form CAPITAL

Members of THE FORMATION and SILENT MAJORITY (former lead vocalist Tommy Corrigan) are in a new band called CAPITAL. The band self-describes their sound as a mix between DAG NASTY, QUICKSAND, and AVAIL. The will be aiming to play their first show (on Long Island) sometime in June, and to record a demo thereafter.

- Given my looooooongstanding fascination with anything Tommy Corrigan sings for, I’ll be following this new project attentively as it comes together.

BANE Interview on Lambgoat.com

Head over here to read a brand new interview with contemporary hardcore legends, BANE. Vocalist Aaron Bedard talks about the band’s recent tour with COMEBACK KID, all sorts of background info on the band’s new release, The Note, and what’s instore for the band in the coming months.

Video of ALKALINE TRIO on Conan

Breakingcustom.com has posted a video of ALKALINE TRIO’s recent performance of “”Time to Waste”" on Conan O’Brien’s show. The video quality is excellent. Check it out here.

- The difference between the band’s performance here and their Conan debut a couple of years ago is like night and day. Maybe there’s hope for FALL OUT BOY after their recent late-night performance…

GRACER (Ex-OTMOP) Post New Song; Annouce Shows

Below is the background on GRACER, taken from the band’s myspace page. Two songs have posted so far.

In 2004, Ryan Mahon was playing drums and singing in a space-rock band called Satellite Lost (Break Even Records) that broke up very untimely. Another local drummer and friend named Chris Enriquez from the indie/screamo band, On the Might of Princes (Revelation Records) split up upon arrival to the states from their European tour. The two of them jammed for nearly a year with different lineups until they finally found another permanent member. Enter Andrew Jones, another friend that had a similar experience when his punk/hardcore band, The Backup Plan (New Day Rising) had also fallen apart before his short stint in This Is Hell (State of Mind/Run For Cover). They soon entered General Studio’s with producer and good friend George Fullan (Taking Back Sunday/ActionAction/Anterrabae/Kill Your Idols/The Modern/On the Might of Princes/Silent Majority) to record an EP that will be finished sometime around June 2005.

- This could turn out to be really, really good…

Stream The New MXPX, Panic

MXPX has posted their entire new album on pureVOLUME. Panic hits stores on June 7th.

- A lot of this album reminds of where the band’s sound was on their 2001 release on Fat. It’s fast, fairly heavy at times, and unmistakably akin to the band’s golden years of pop-punk standards. Side One Dummy recussitates another one from the major label graveyard…
