EIGHTEEN VISIONS “Obsession”

For fans of EIGHTEEN VISIONS, the band’s move towards increasingly melodic fare was all but sealed with the advent of “Vanity’s” distinguishing characteristics. While 2002′s “Vanity” was a ground breaking hardcore disc for its voracious consumption of self-absorbed imagery and emotions, all delivered with a strategically devasting punch, “Obsession” pushes the envelope even further with [...]

Smallman Records List of Resources

As I explored the Smallman Records site, I stumbled upon their

resource section. What I found was a great way for those looking to get involved in the music industry (band or business) to learn about the business. “”When we started the Label, we had no idea what to do in order to book a tour, how to submit to radio or media in order to get coverage for our bands or even how to make the proper seasonal holiday cookies. So we spent all of our waking hours talking to people and trying to understand what we were supposed to do in order to get our bands known.

Though we can’t help you out with everything, we’ve put together this Resources section as a starting point. This area will constantly be added to with new contacts for radio, promoters, and anything else that might be helpful. We know how hard it is when you start, and hopefully this will be of some assistance. Remember though, only a small part of the work is figuring out what needs to get done. The more important part is to actually get off of your ass and do the work.

New EVERGREEN TERRACE Tunage!

This song is pretty awesome… it’s called “The Thunder,” and it’s from the band’s upcoming album Sincerity Is An Easy Disguise In This Business. Listen here and play it loud! The new album is out on June 21st.

THE EARLY NOVEMBER / I AM THE AVALANCE To Release Split EP

Press Release:

Drive-Thru Records will release a split CD from label heavy-weights THE EARLY NOVEMBER and newly signed I AM THE AVALANCHE on July 26, 2005.

THE EARLY NOVEMBER, known for their intense lyrics and natural recording style, provide two tracks to the split CD. The demo version of “Outside” from their upcoming album and for long-time fans, a live version of the track “Ever So Sweet” which originally appeared on 2003’s The Room’s Too Cold. Former front man of The Movielife, Vinnie Caruana, heads I AM THE AVALANCHE. The two tracks, “New Disaster” and “I Took A Beating” are a preview of the band’s debut full-length produced by Barrett Jones (Foo Fighters, Melvins), coming out September 27, 2005.

With two EPs and a full-length CD under their belts, THE EARLY NOVEMBER has sold upwards of 250,000 albums. The band recently played at the three-day Bamboozle festival in New Jersey and is currently recording their next album, a triple-CD with Chris Badami (Midtown, The Starting Line), scheduled for release in February 2006. I AM THE AVALANCHE was selected as one of Alternative Press’ 100 Hundred Bands You Need To Know In 2005 and the new album shines with Caruana’s song-writing accompanied by heavy, intricate guitars and intoxicating beats.

Track listing:

The Early November

1. Outside (Demo)

2. Ever So Sweet (Live from Philly)

I Am The Avalanche

3. New Disaster

4. I Took A Beating (Acoustic)

- Here’s to hoping that the I AM THE AVALANCE full-length is promptly released on its release date, September 27th, and not pushed back to an early 2006 release!!

Release Delays From Camp Eulogy

Eulogy Records sent me a note a short while ago updating some of the info regarding UNEARTH’s Our Days of Eulogy release. It looks like the album will not see a release in August/September as previously posted, as it has been delayed due to the band wanting to improve the sound quality of some of the material. Additionally, the upcoming full-length from CALICO SYSTEM, which was originally slated for an August 23rd release date has been delayed also for sound quality issues, purported to concern the recording of the lead vocals.

TURMOIL Retrospective Update

From da’prp.com:

TURMOIL are shooting for an August 23rd release date for their 2-disc retrospective release, Staring Back. The band recently hit the studio to record three new songs for effort, which will land in stores via Abacus.

- Abacus has a lot of incredible things on tap for the rest of this year and beyond, some announced, and some still below the surface. It should definitely be a break-out year for the label.
