GOLD BLADE “Strictly Hardcore”

GOLD BLADE has already established themselves as one of England’s biggest names in punk, even landing a couple of singles in the top 75 singles charts. So why haven’t we ever heard of them? With “Strictly Hardcore”, GOLD BLADE plans to alleviate that problem, putting together 15 of their best tracks over the years to [...]

BLUSOM “Go Slowly All the Way Round the Outside”

Try as I might, there is no way to pigeonhole BLUSOM. With album art portraying a kid bashing a guitar, the acoustic guitars and laptop beats of the opening track, “On Glass”, caught me off guard. In the era of DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL clones, it’s difficult to be innovative with a one or two-piece acoustic act, [...]

Get up and move along lil’doggie…

Pastepunk HQ is shutting down for a couple of days as I am moving on Saturday. We’ll surface again sometime Sunday night with new contests for THE SNAKE THE CROSS THE CROWN, in support of their “”Mander Salis”" release, and LARS FREDERIKSEN and THE BASTARDS, featuring their brand new, and highly enigmatic release, “”Viking.”" Until then – wish me luck with with the UHAUL, because if there’s trouble, expect a few thousand CDs to fly out of the back of the truck and cover a large swatch of roadway…

Got DEVILINSIDE?

Har har har….

I’ve been looking forward to this piece of news since DEVILINSIDE released their debut EP a bunch of months ago. Now, hot on the heels of their first full-length, DEVILINSIDE have posted a new song called “”34 Months For Nothing”" to their pureVOLUME site. This brutal old-school metalcore band is one of the many standouts on the growing Abacus Roster, and the new disc drops on September 7th.

EFF sends Senators constructive letter against INDUCE Act

In the growing fight against Senator Hatch’s misguided attempt to create a nebulous new form of secondary copyright infringement liability (inducement), the Electronic Frontier Foundation has the linked letter to all Senators. Read the letter and if you decide that you support the work the EFF is doing, let your Senator know!!

SOCRATIC “It’s Getting Late”

Another melodic emo/pop punk band from New Jersey, proving my hypothesis that these bands wash up on the Jersey shore from some mystical island in the middle of the Atlantic that I like to call PoppyEmoArchipelago (honestly, how many of these guys are there?). Still, SOCRATIC’s “It’s Getting Late” is a very solid 6-song release [...]
