The entrepreneurial spirit has long prospered in the world of independent music, and two new starts-ups, announced just days apart serve as reinforcements.

Punk Rock Deals (PRD) is a “Groupon-styled” site that will feature discounted prices on merch and  music. The first deal posted is for “Our Forefathers: A Protopunk DVD Box Set (featuring  The Stooges, Dead Boys, MC5, New York Dolls)”.

Hundo describes itself as a “crowd-commissioned art website looking to help artists and musicians get their passion projects put into production”. (Think Kickstarter). Their first project is getting The Felix Culpa’s debut album, Commitment, released on vinyl.
