iTunes Begins Selling DRM-Free Music Today; Jordan Ecstatic Wherever He May Be

After Steve Jobs lashed out against digital copyright protection, aka DRM, a few months ago, the iTunes Store has begun selling music that is free of the DRM restrictions. It should be noted that two of the interesting features of the revamped iTunes Store (known as iTunes Plus) is that when a user makes a DRM-free purchase, iTunes will ask the user if they want to make DRM-free downloads the default, and also, users who have purchased DRM-locked music can upgrade to the DRM-free version for a small fee.

So, while Jordan will be able to better analyze the new iTunes business model, suffice it to say, I’m sure he’s pretty stoked.
