1. THIS IS HELL have posted another new song from their forthcoming third album, Weight of the World. Head over to their MySpace page to listen to “No One Leaves Unscathed.” The Rise Records release hits stores on June 8th, and from the first few songs previewed, it certainly seems like it is going to be a monster hardcore record for 2010.

2. Black Numbers has signed Jersey punk rock group BANQUET. The band features former members of LET ME RUN and THE BANNER. The band’s debut song, “Eleanor, I need a Garden,” is streaming here. Their first release is a 7″ titled This Is Our Concern, Dude.

3. That new STONE TEMPLE PILOTS album is a big pile of meh. When everyone’s happy and working together in that band, the music just comes out soft…

4. GREEN DAY is listed as having a new release on eMusic on June 8th. That’s also their Rock Band release date. Anyone have an idea of what that eMusic entry is about?

5. Being a fan of cruises, this blurb from a press release immediately caught my attention:

70,000 TONS OF METAL CRUISE: In January 2011, forty heavy metal bands plus 2,000 fans will take over the luxury cruise ship “Majesty of the Seas” and head for the Caribbean for a 5-day/4-night trip of a lifetime.

This is no ordinary cruise… this is 100% heavy metal! With tons of on-board live shows on several in and outdoor stages, open mic nights, bars that never close, a fun-& -sun-filled day on the beautiful island of Cozumel, México, and the opportunity to mingle side-by-side with the performing artists in this incredibly fan-friendly scenario, this experience has no comparison. It’s like everyone has a backstage pass!”

Confirmed bands include EXODUS, OBITUARY, AMON AMARTH, RAVEN, SONATA ARCTICA, SWASHBUCKLE (which kind of makes sense, given the whole Pirate Metal thing…), TESTAMENT, and others. A total of 40 bands are planned to participate. All of the details are here. Do they still have the formal dining? Can you take your battle axe into the spa?

6. Metalsucks recently interviewed Tara Johnson of the un-hiatused DISEMBODIED. If you want the short version, the answer to every question is basically, “fuck it,” “I don’t give a fuck,” and “I don’t give a shit anymore.” Good to know.

7. Underrated song: PENNYWISE – “My Own Way,” from Straight Ahead. Stream it here.
