DESPITADO going out in a flame of downloads?

From punknews.org:

While Saskatchewan based Despistado disbanded earlier this month, they did leave behind a full-length worth of material for release on Jade Tree. The label has set an April 5th digital release date for The People Of And Their Verses, so it’s still unknown if there will be a physical CD release at this point. A song from the 12 track collection is online now, so check out “”Burning House.”" The full track listing and cover art for the release can be found on the label’s website.

- I hope Jade Tree completes the experiment and makes this a digital only release. I’m not aware of any other label of its size in the indie community going that route thus far, and given the obvious fact that DESPITADO are not going to be touring in support of it, what’s there to lose? (OK – plenty of people still have no access to broadband whatsoever, and that is a major limiting factor). As Jade Tree’s catalog is now well-represented on Rhapsody, that too provides an environment where a digital only release may thrive. Hmmm….
