Deep Elm will begin distribution of its entire catalog of nearly one hundred titles through LMMG on April 4, 2005.

For the past two years, Deep Elm has been distributed by Chicago-based Southern Records Inc.

John Szuch, Deep Elm’s owner, stated “”We are very excited about our new deal with Lumberjack Mordam. It’s an amazing group of individuals. They have a large, experienced, highly pro-active sales staff on both coasts and an impressive label lineup. They’re also on the cutting edge of technology when it comes to sales and marketing. We’ve been meeting and talking with other labels in the group and sharing ideas. It’s like a group of friends working together‚Ķand that’s a really good feeling. We’re fortunate to be involved.”"

Dirk Hemsath, CEO and President of LMMG, added “”I’ve known John for a long time and I’ve always wanted Deep Elm to be with us for distribution. I think Deep Elm has a great roster and John has worked hard over the last ten years to build the label into something really special.”"

The first of Deep Elm’s new releases to be distributed through LMMG include The Plural Of The Choir from Bologna, Italy’s SETTLEFISH and Arson Followed Me Home, the debut from Burlington, Ontario’s ELEVEN MINUTES AWAY. The street date for these titles is April 26. Next up will be Volume Two of Deep Elm’s highly acclaimed compilation series THIS IS INDIE ROCK set for release on May 10.

For nearly ten years, Deep Elm has embraced the DIY ethic, maintaining 100% independence while launching the careers of bands like The Appleseed Cast, Planes Mistaken For Stars and Brandtson, as well as up-and-comers such as Sounds Like Violence, Lock And Key, Settlefish, Burns Out Bright, Eleven Minutes Away, Secondhand Stories, Clair De Lune and Desert City Soundtrack.
