Cobra Music Record Label Launches

Music industry visionaries Vlad Radovanov and Sean McKeough have teamed up to create Cobra Music, a new indie label specializing in fresh, cutting-edge rock. Operating out of Los Angeles and Chicago, Cobra Music aspires to bring superior music to the masses having secured distribution through Universal Music Group’s Fontana Distribution Co.

Founded by former hip-hop MC Radovanov turned music attorney (aka V of V and Legacy 2000MG) and McKeough, former drummer of Bellhouse and current owner of Chicago’s Cobra Lounge, Cobra Music is poised to make their mark on the modern-day industry with their carefully selected roster of artists.

Oregon natives THE HANKS are the first out of the gate with the wide release of their much-lauded debut Your New Attraction, streeting January 23. The alt quartet has managed to marry an undeniable punk/pop sensibility with a compelling taste of ska-tinged rock. It’s the overwhelming, grassroots support of fans nationwide that allowed THE HANKS to sell more than 10,000 self-released records before ever inking a deal.

“We’re excited to have The Hanks on board as our first signing,‚Äù says co-founder Radovanov. ‚ÄúThey are one of the hardest working bands that I have ever been around and musically gifted as hell. And we really appreciate the opportunity to be able to bring great music to people and be a part of a culture.”

Additionally slated for release in 2007 is former DANDY WARHOL founder Eric Hedford’s power-pop, new wave rock band WE ARE TELEPHONE (WAT) and New York’s blood ‚Äòn‚Äô sex outfit SUFFRAJETT, led by Simi, Cobra Music‚Äôs answer to Joan Jett, Motley Crue and Tamar-Kali.

1. Founded by former hip-hop MC Radovanov turned music attorney (aka V of V and Legacy 2000MG) and McKeough, former drummer of Bellhouse — Who?!?

2. THE HANKS, while not bad, sound like a band that could be popular… in the year 1996. What new label launches with a horn-laden pop-punk band as its first release?

3. “New York’s blood ‚Äòn‚Äô sex outfit” — press releases get stranger by the day.
