Stream: PJ BOND – “Ten Degrees And The Floor” EP

- Background details on the EP can be found here.

First PLOW UNITED Got Back Together; Now There’s New Material…

PLOW UNITED’s year of resurgence ends on an even higher note with the posting of two brand new songs. Despite the material being a little slower, quieter, and mildly de-snotted compared to their excellent 90s works, this is all very, very exciting…

Stream: GREY AREA / GO RYDELL Split EP

- Just a refresher here for those who may have missed or forgotten about this EP, which came out in March. I definitely should have given this some end-of-year-list love…

Stream: CREATURES – “Vesuvius”

- Impressively heavy metallic hardcore from this California band. The gnashed out vocals mesh perfectly with the cargo-ship thick guitars. Twelve Gauge records has the album available on vinyl from their Hellfish store.

“Emo Diaries Vol. 1″ (The Classic!!) Free Download

Deep Elm’s free download series hits the jackpot today with the label’s offering of the first “Emo Diaries” compilation, “What’s Mine Is Yours”. With only a hint of hyperbole, I submit that this compilation is one of the finest emo-related releases of all time.

Not The Same Battery…

- Inspired by a Facebook post by former Pastepunk staffer Adam Barone. It’s highly unlikely this will ever come to fruition, but I truly wish the entire BATTERY discography (of the hardcore band, not the ambient pop group above) would be reissued in remastered form (save for “Whatever It Takes” which still sounds phenomenal). Are you busy Brian McTernan? Got some free time on your hands? How about you Bridge Nine? You seem to have had some success with hardcore band reissues lately…

Another Repress for UNIFORM CHOICE’s “Screaming For Change”…

I’m not a huge vinyl collector, but I did notice this week that RevHQ.com is making available a new repress of UNIFORM CHOICE’s classic Screaming For Change on colored vinyl (apparently it is green and a repress of the 2nd pressing). The description from RevHQ says all you need to know about this incredible record: “Recorded in 1985, this is the debut album from this ground-breaking Orange County, CA straight edge band. Featuring Pat Dubar and Patrick Longrie (of Unity), this band was the West Coast’s answer to Minor Threat and played a strong influence on No For An Answer and Insted, as well as the rest of the O.C. hardcore scene. Now available again on colored vinyl.” You can pick it up here.
