You can stream the entire disc from AD ASTRA PER ASPERA at a new e-card their label, Sonic Unyon, launched. At the link there are also details on a t-shirt/album pre-order deal. Catapult Calypso hits stores Tuesday, October 3.

- This disc is super interesting, to say the least.

WITH HONOR “This Is Our Revenge”

There are all too many bands within hardcore today who are mostly concerned with regurgitating the same riffs over and over, singing about the same cliché topics, and posturing like a bunch wannabe tough guys. But it is bands like WITH HONOR that truly separate the wheat from the chaff. With last year’s Heart Means [...]

Speaking of SAOSIN

I have their CD in the boombox in the Pastepunk Outpost, and while I enjoyed while it was on, as soon as it was off, I can’t speak to any of the tunes except “they were catchy”. I haven’t heard any of their material with Anthony Green, but the vocals certaintly weren’t offensive to my ears. Perhaps with more listens, it’ll stick, but so far, it’s slicker than an oil spill.

SAOSIN Bonus Track on iTunes

As the SAOSIN frenzy continues this week (a price of $5.99 at Best Buy will do that!), those prefering to shop at iTunes will be treated to the free bonus song “Let Go Control.” Interestingly, in only two days since the release of the self-titled album, already 138 iTunes reviews have been posted. You can nab the bonus song here.

Aversion.com Talks With THE DRAFT

In another fine feature by the folks at Aversion.com, THE DRAFT’s Jason Black discusses his desire for “closure” on the HOT WATER MUSIC chapter of his life, and the liberating nature of starting anew with THE DRAFT. It’s a very cool read – check it out here.

- The best part about the above-linked article is Black’s mentioning of bands who play the same songs for 15 years ‘because they have too,’ and write the same album over and over again under the same rationale. Hmmm… I sure do wonder who he may be referencing.

LAST DAY DYING Post Video

The band released Lover’s Arms earlier this year on ISR records.

From the inbox:

You can now access online dozens of pictures of some of Earache’s most groundbreaking bands as they played on the legendary 1989 Grindcrusher tour. These photos are taken from a mind-blowing gig at Bradford St George’s Hall on November 15th 1989 and feature classic shots of MORBID ANGEL, BOLT THROWER, CARCASS and NAPALM DEATH.

The discovery of these amazing live shots provides an insightful glimpse into the beginnings of the worldwide grindcore scene, and displays some of the true masters of the genre in legendary form.
