TERROR “One With the Underdogs”

It’s sort of an odd example of social commentary when Trustkill has to slap “THIS IS REAL HARDCORE!” sticker on the front cover of TERROR’s “One With the Underdogs,” but at the same time, I absolutely understand the point that is being is made. TERROR, as a musical entity, is not out playing music to [...]

HEADS VS BREAKERS Live Content

For fans of the sadly defunct HEADS VS BREAKERS (who might just be the best band you have never heard of), the group posted two tracks that were recorded live from a special show the band played at CBGBs a short time ago. The quality is pretty great, and there’s a cover of DAG NASTY’s “Circles.” Check it out here.

ARCH ENEMY Post New Track, “Nemesis”

From the inbox:

Metal titans ARCH ENEMY Рwhose dynamic mixture of melody and aggression has earned them massive critical acclaim, a rabid worldwide fanbase and a slot on this summer’s Ozzfest Рtriumphantly return with Doomsday Machine, their most stunning and all-encompassing release yet. The album’s blistering lead off single, “Nemesis,” has just been posted online at the location below. It features the classic, renowned ARCH ENEMY sound and gives a strong indication as to just how aggressive this new effort truly is. A video for the track will be shot this week with director George Bravo, who previously worked with the band on their “We Will Rise” video.

Mike Amott (lead guitars) further describes his thoughts on the group‚Äôs highly anticipated new album: ‚ÄúI think all great metal needs that killer mix of classic riffs and ripping solos, something that has been a bit of a dying art recently. We are doing our best to recreate that mix on this new album, and one thing I can guarantee is that there will be tons of guitar for fans to headbang to.‚Äù Look for ARCH ENEMY on Ozzfest all summer alongside a slew of high profile off-dates with such acclaimed acts as Black Dahlia Murder, In Flames, The Haunted and Trivum, among others (check the band’s official website for further details).

wma: Nemesis

- Isn’t having a lead single named “”Nemesis”" a little redundant from a band called ARCH ENEMY? Cool stuff nonetheless.

Stream Takeover Records “3 Way Split Vol. 2″

Out today is the second volume of Takeover Records three-band split series. The players on volume two are NEAR MISS, THE MATCHES, and REEVE OLIVER. All nine songs on the release are previously unreleased. The label has posted the disc in its entirety here. Also in stores today from Takeover Records is the re-release of YELLOWCARD’s Where We Stand.

Album of the Day

DARKEST HOUR – Undoing Ruin

- If not for the fact that my copy of this is stashed somewhere in my apartment where I can’t quite locate at the moment (due to an emergency music evacuation situation over the weekend concerning an apartment flood), I’d be reviewing this today. If you’re still searching for a quality review of this great disc, both punknews.org and lambgoat.com have given it top-billing. And if you’re heading over to Best Buy to pick it up today, be sure to look for the brand new album by DREDG, which is “”priced to move”" at only $6.99.
