DAUGHTERS “Canada Songs”

Holy crap! It’s chaos…just sheer, utter chaos. “Canada Songs”, the debut full length of Providence-based DAUGHTERS, is the equivalent of a musical seizure. The songs are layered and, while possibly lacking technical merit, are compelling as hell. Quite simply, it’s a train wreck in every possible way, from inaudible lyrics to psychotic guitar arrangements, but [...]

SINAI BEACH finish new album; sand erosion on the horizon…

From lambgoat.com:

Sinai Beach recently finished tracking their new full-length. Entitled “”Immersed,”" the effort was recorded at Trax East studios and is currently being mixed. The album will hit stores on January 5th through Facedown Records.

- Woohoo! Trax East! I almost always love the way releases sound that come from this studio, especially the brand new release from A PERFECT CIRCLE, titled “”Unbroken.”"

WIZO news generously borrowed from punknews.org

From the ‘org:

“”Wizo have announced that they are the first band in the world to officially release a five-song USB Stick EP. The Stick EP will contain the following: five songs, an exclusive live video clip of the band in Japan, a load of pictures, lyrics to all the songs, tabs for the guitars in the songs, a photo contest (only in German), and a multimedia menu for your web browser. The band has also finished recording their new album, due to come out later this year.”"

- Awesomeness. Does anyone else remember being 15 and buying WIZO’s “”Uuaarrgh”" after their stint on the US Warped Tour? No one had a clue who these guys were, but they sure knew how to shred! The USB stick is a great idea too – Dallas Mavericks owner, and CEO of HD NET has been talking a lot in his blog about the media switch to tiny hard drives in the future, especially for delivering movies, and it’s nice to see the punk community here taking an initial big step!

OVER IT video for “Ignore the Noise” posted!

We’ve recently posted OVER IT’s video for “Ignore the Noise,” a new song from the band’s upcoming album, “Silverstrand.” You can download it here. OVER IT are headlining the soon-to-start PASTEPUNK TOUR with the THE GAMITS and NATIONAL PRODUCT in October.

THE FIRE THEFT “S/T”

I’ll admit that I jumped aboard the SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE bandwagon. I thought that “Diary” was an amazing release bordering on monumental status. Even “How It Feels to be Something On” was a great album. Then, I heard “The Rising Tide”, and jumped ship as soon as possible. It was a bad, no, terrible [...]
