A SMALL VICTORY a “pure pick” at pureVOLUME!

Lobster’s southern-pop-punk heroes (it’s a new genre, get used to it) A SMALL VICTORY got some lovin’ from the people at pureVOLUME over the weekend, as they are now a “”Pure Pick.”" The band’s brand new full-length “”El Camino”" is winning over fans from coast to coast, so spend some time with their tunes and see what the fuss is all about.

Bridge 9 keeps kicking out the jams…

I wonder if it’s possible the fit the entire B9 discography onto one mp3 CD? Hmmm… anyway, there’s a crazy amount of great new releases from this label, especially STAND AND FIGHT’s brand new full-length, “”Together We Win.”" The posicore vibes are off the chart on this disc, and Wrench proves that he’s as capable a hardcore vocalist as anyone. Check out the song “”Perspective”" from the link below.

Punktastic.com loves “Broken Lamps… Vol. 2″!!!

And oh yea, it’s only $5!!

A hint of advice for anyone in an apartment…

If per chance you should see small spots of water pool up from under a carpeted room, and you also notice a slight amount of dripping water coming from your air conditioning unit, it may just be that a pipe has clogged in the convection, and oh… 20+ gallons of water have leaked and formed to create a tiny lake underneath. As I have learned perhaps the hard way, this merits the attention of a landlord/building manager immediately. Sigh. It’s a damn good thing the new CHAMPION full-length arrived this weekend…

CAN I SAY “The Last Goodbye”

Hell yea, this is some good hardcore. Any time a band names themself after a DAG NASTY song or album title, you just know the end result can’t be all that bad. CAN I SAY’s “The Last Goodbye” is a five song EP that immediately evokes the spirit of BANE, TOKEN ENTRY, and BATTERY. There’s [...]

Flashback to: TRIAL – “Are These Our Lives?”

I have almost a hard time believing that it’s been more than five years since TRIAL released their swan song, “”Are These Our Lives?”" As arguably one of the most important and popular straight-edge hardcore bands of the late 90s, TRIAL’s musical presence of political persuasion seem now like mere blips in time. When this release came out, I remember being almost speechless after giving it a listen. With huge gang vocals, monstrous drumming, and ultra-political/positive lyrics, TRIAL were not just another band playing shows in local VFW Halls for mere sport, they were a spark of life setting anything in its path ablaze. TRIAL folded in late Fall of 1999 (after I had a chance to interview the band’s singer, which can be found here), and most of the rhythm section ended up in HIMSA, who had just signed to Revelation at the time. That same HIMSA, although with a greatly retooled line-up, is now the killer metalcore band on Prosthetic Head.
