Various Artists “BRANDTSON, CAMBER, SEVEN STOREY Split EP”

Many labels make talk of a “family” atmosphere, and Deep Elm is definitely one of the labels that puts their money where their mouth is. These guys churn out compilation after compilation featuring nearly all of their artists, and in addition, have been cranking out an excellent intralabel splits series. The latest incarnation of these [...]

Anyone else remember mail-ordering from ANTI?

…of course, getting one’s order with crushed jewel cases was a standard feature!!

Not much of a “”news”" factor here, but for those of you who have often wondered, “”Why doesn’t Epitaph have a webstore?”" the label has finally silenced your question.

Check it out at store.epitaph.com and peruse one of the best, if not, the best back-catalog of any modern punk rock label.

New e-card from THE BRIEFS!

Check out this here e-card for “”Orange Alert,”" a rippin’ song off the band’s brand new full-length, “”Sex Objects”" (also out tomorrow). With all that metal and hardcore that’s infused my life over the years, sometimes hearing some brillant, classic styled punk rock does much to cleanse the cobwebs…

CD shopping should be hella good tomorrow!

Off the top of my head, the follow awesome releases are out tomorrow, all of which I highly recommend:

4. THE GAMITS – Antidote

5. FROM FIRST TO LAST – Dear Diary, My Teenage Angst Has a Body Count (ok, this one definitely isn’t as essential as the other ones, but it’s worth checking out nonetheless…)

THE BLED “Pass The Flask”

With one giant swoop, Fiddler erased the notions of them being a “pop oriented” label by releasing the full-length debut by Arizona’s THE BLED. In a sense, THE BLED heavily remind me of NORA, as they take, what I’d usually call an east coast approach to mixing metallic guitars with traditional, speedy hardcore song-structures. Screamy, [...]

THE AKAs [Are Everywhere] “White Doves and Smoking Guns”

If there’s a United States counterpart to Sweden’s INTERNATIONAL NOISE CONSPIRACY, then it is without a doubt, THE AKAs. In their full-length debut, this New York five-piece takes crunchy guitars, mid-paced drums, and a slammin’ organ and smacks some glorious, city-smart style into the mix. Gritty, snarling vocals crest above bob-and-weave rock-stylings, and the result [...]
