Pressssssssss Release!

The Death Scene Recording Company is proud to announce its inaugural release, “”A Brand New Subdivision,”" from your new favorite band, HALFWAYHOME. The Death Scene is a newly founded upstart label from Brooklyn, NY that was forged from one man‚Äôs insatiable need put his heart behind something in which he truly believes.

Music industry veteran and all around good dude Angel Juarbe founded The Death Scene earlier this year with intentions of being the starting point for Halfwayhome, but it soon will become the platform for a diverse roster of bands. July 13th, it will take off with the release of A Brand New Subdivision as The Death Scene and Halfwayhome take their first steps toward being a staple in the independent music scene.

Reminiscent of early-era Saves The Day with the lyrical reflection of Taking Back Sunday, Halfwayhome steps up the might and melody missing in much of today‚Äôs music. The band’s tales of growing pains, personal loss and memories of better days will grab you and burrow their way into your heart.

– I’m digging these songs – but as expected with most press releases, ignore all the gratuitious name droppings of band comparisons!

More on THISYEARSMODEL…

So I definitely goofed in my post yesterday about THISYEARSMODEL – “”Wanted: New Best Friends.”" For whatever reason, I confused it with TYM’s demo disc that Fadeaway put out, and forgot that Law of Inertia released “”Wanted…”" Anyway… as a helpful reader has pointed out, you can get “”Wanted: New Best Friends”" from Suburban Home Distribution for only $8 with free shipping. GOOD DEAL!

BOTTOM LINE “No One’s Safe”

I’ve got a ton of conflicting opinions on this release, and only a few of them are positive. I guess we’ll tackle the “good” first. BOTTOM LINE play old-school hardcore with snarl and grit (think CRO-MAGS), but not very fast nor skilled. And when the band does try to raise the speed up a notch, they [...]
