Pastepunk attempts to lose even more credibility…

The new SUM 41 cd is really, really good.

HATEBREED “Perseverence”

It’s absurd that it took HATEBREED almost five years to put out a new album, but after listening to “Perseverance” it was obviously well worth the wait. I’m still not a fan of the overall “tough-guy image” that this band manages to exhude more often than not, but I can’t deny how strong of a [...]

HOT ROD CIRCUIT “Sorry About Tomorrow”

For a band that I’ve seen more than a few times live and have had sporatic attempts in listening to their back catalog, I always felt that HOT ROD CIRCUIT was a good band, but never a great band. “Sorry About Tomorrow,” their third full-length, and first for Vagrant is about to change that conception [...]

THE HONOR SYSTEM “100% Synthetic”

A bit more than a year ago, THE HONOR SYSTEM came out with a great debut full length on Asian Man Records. The band instantly reminded me of what BAD RELIGION would have sounded like had it been founded in the Chicago/Midwest punk scene. My interest waned in this band though, and I pretty much [...]

Thankful and uhh, stuff.

Well, I'm back in NY for the first time since July, and everything about it just feels good. Sure, my bedroom has been converted into my father's office; all my furniture seems strangely smaller; and it's pretty cold, but there's just something irresistible about being with family (and with food). So on that note, I wish everyone reading this a meaningful holiday and some personal warmth.

On a different note – I had a to visit four different stores this morning to pick up the new SUM 41 (sold out at a best buy?!?! how about two best buys!) – I can't wait to see the first week sales on this one. I wasn't really into this guys before, but this release is pretty darn awesome. If this is going to be their true breakout (nevermind the last one sold over 2 million copies), it's certainly worth it.

I plan to consume approximately 14 pounds of turkey. I hope my stomach is feeling expandable!

HEY MERCEDES “Everynight Fireworks”

Before I go into dissecting “Everynight Fireworks,” I would like to disclose that a) I never got into BRAID, b) I still am not all that familar with BRAID, and c) HEY MERCEDES IS NOT BRAID. Okay, now that that is out of the way, this is a fantastic, hooky, smooth pop-rock disc with a [...]
