WHERE EAGLES DARE “In A Thousand Words or Less”

A lot of people complain that STRETCH ARMSTRONG doesn’t tour enough to support their ever-growing (and rightfully so) fanbase. I propose that to solve this dilemma, people start booking WHERE EAGLES DARE instead, as this band sounds remarkably similar – and trust me, that’s certainly not a bad thing. Hailing from Arizona, this five-piece erupts with a bastion of fury and hardcore passion, draped in positivity, humor, and loads of energy. Within a few listens, this band had me finger-pointing and singing-along all over Pastepunk HQ. At eight tunes, and only 13 minutes of music, WHERE EAGLES DARE are very responsible with the time of material recorded, leaving no blips for subpar songs. This disc’s strongest asset is use of insanely loud gang vocals on the track “Behind That Smile,” which evokes the best of GOOD CLEAN FUN. If you’re in search of a feel good anthem for 2003, check out the closer, “Good Times,” with it’s TIME FLIES like charm, screaming “every kid here is a reason to care / this mic in my hand is for everyone here / to shout it out loud without any fear / cuase it’s your voice we need / to make this all grow / to bring it together / 1…2…3…GO! GOOD TIMES, HARDCORE PRIDE, RESPECT, UNITY.” I don’t care how many times this stuff has been done before – who can turn down an offering this good when so many aspects of hardcore dignity continue to be eroded day after day? WHERE EAGLES DARE – keep this band’s name handy…
