UNSUNG ZEROS “Fading Out EP”

Well I never honestly thought I’d see Eulogy put out a purely pop-punk release, but at least they went forward with such a move by picking up the rockin’ UNSUNG ZEROS. These guys have been lighting up parts of Florida for a few years and came out with a great full length called “The People Mover” a short while back. Featuring splendid vocals and a playful, super melodic sound, this band is nothing short of infectious. The five songs on here show slight progression from their previous works, losing a little bit of their harder edge and gaining some more guitar hooks instead. A few of the tunes on “The People Mover” bordered on hyperspeed, which descreased their overall catchiness, and this more mature sound is much appreciated. Another thing this band has going for them is good, honest, thoughtful lyrics. The last track, “Postcards Home” captures the essence of a touring band quite well. As a bonus, there’s a non-painful cover of GENESIS’ “Invisible Touch.” For fans of the pop-punk with an extra heaping of melody, you can’t go wrong with the UNSUNG ZEROS.
