Heading to a new venue in a new city gives you a chance to get a feel for your fellow scenesters and make new, lasting friendships. Neh, I’m here for THURSDAY. The comedy club served as a perfect venue for THURSDAY’s mini-tour to hit up. Despite Geoff Rickly’s well documented health problems (most notably full collapsing on stage in the New York area), the tour was a necessity for the band to test out new material and get their performing legs back under them after many a month in the studio. As if new THURSDAY material wasn’t enough of an incentive to shell out 20 bucks, BLACK CROSS, MURDER BY DEATH, and another group that was promoting a new album, THIS DAY FORWARD, accompanied the band.
