THERE FOR TOMORROW “S/T”

THERE FOR TOMORROW plays faceless pop-punk, almost begging comparisons to CARTEL (I’m going to go with ANBERLIN meets the more melodic side of SAOSIN – Ed.). I think the comparisons make sense. Both have seven track EPs on relatively large indie labels (Hopeless and the Militia Group, respectively), are from the South (Orlando and Atlanta), play pop-punk or power-pop-rock, and have absolutely angelic sounding lead singers. But, there’s one thing that Cartel had on Ransom that THERE FOR TOMORROW lack: memorable songs. It’s not a question of hooks, since there’s plenty on THERE FOR TOMORROW’s self-titled debut. But, there’s only one song on this disc that I’d come back to, and would remember THERE FOR TOMORROW as the authors of, and that song is the fourth track, “Remember When.” The rest pass by with me finger-tapping my keyboard, but if I didn’t have the information about the song on the screen in front of me, I couldn’t tell you who wrote them or what disc the songs are from. If you’re looking for a new fix for hooky rock music, then check out THERE FOR TOMORROW. Just don’t expect their music to linger for all that long.
