Long Island’s ORION could be any one of a number of screamo bands out there today. There’s virtually nothing on The Sound and The Fury that distinguishes this band from their peers, save for an excellent recording quality, and a pleasurable lack of pompous excess and flimsy self-importance. Perhaps that’s the problem with ORION – they’re boring in their lyrical frustrations and straight-forward songwriting. There’s no mystery to these guys… their musical influences are about as a deep as a slice of thin-crust pizza, and have the emotional grip of a cardboard box. Not heavy enough to demand your attention, nor dynamic enough to keep you zoned in, the five songs that make up The Sound and The Fury succeed in only shouting “blah blah blah.”
