EISLEY “Marvelous Things EP”

The dreamy, delicate pop sound of EISLEY has helped the band develop a major backing by indie radio stations and has landed them a spot on Reprise. With “Marvelous Things”, the group again teases its fans by giving mere glimpses of what this band is capable of. A much-anticipated debut full length is finally in the works for the Texas quintet, but until then, we’ve been handed “Marvelous Things” to help pass the time. Citing influences like THE SMITHS and SIGUR ROS, EISLEY pulls off a style that is as atmospheric and emotional as it is simplistic and catchy. The band has a sparkle in their music, with whirling guitars and surreal harmonies. The catchy pop tunes are somewhat comparable to songs you might hear on a children’s sing-a-long show, and if you have more aggressive tastes this album could drive you insane. But for those who like the occasional easy listening indie pop, EISLEY is as soothing as it is ambient. After touring with COLDPLAY twice, you can expect EISLEY to blow up on the scene as soon as their full length hits stores. Plenty of artists have been throwing this band’s name around, so get a head start and check out this EP if you’re a fan of THE SHINS or the softer side of THE SMASHING PUMPKINS.
