CRASH AND BURN “The Value Of Mistrust”

I can’t say I enjoyed this album all that much, but it was worth a couple rotations. CRASH AND BURN’s latest, The Value Of Mistrust, is a record of clever rock music blended with some hardcore elements. You won’t find any breakdowns, but you’ll get some weird solos and guitar noodling at various points. The singing/screaming vocals are perfect for this style of music. They really are the highlight of the album. It really all blends well together. At points in the album, it totally sends me a HOT WATER MUSIC vibe, which is pretty awesome. Unfortunately, there is a ridiculously unnecessary solo in the track entitled “Red Menace” that really isn’t that good and there’s no real point in having in the album in the first place. The rest of the songs and music are pretty good, but nothing to really get super excited over. I will definitely find myself listening to this album in the future. I don’t recommend this album if you want to hear something brutal and adrenalizing. This album is all about straight rock n’ roll. As far as the layout and artwork, the CD cover isn’t cool at all, but at least there’s a cool guillotine on the front of the entire album. Points for that.
