BURY YOUR DEAD “You Had Me At Hello”

It’s definitely a shame this band broke up shortly before “You Had Me At Hello” hit stores because this is a pretty crushing hardcore disc. Although BURY YOUR DEAD clearly took notes from HATEBREED University, the similarities are welcome and appreciated. With degrees in Breakdownology, Moshcore Behavior, and Sing-Along Management, BURY YOUR DEAD are equipped to face any hardcore challenge. I didn’t get a lyric sheet with this disc, but the light-hearted song titles seem to indicate a tongue-in-cheek attitude (“Cammo Is My Favorite Color,” “Ten Minute Romance”), but that wouldn’t be too obvious to anyone listening to this casually. Oh well. I pretty much wouldn’t care if these guys were discussing nursery rhymes in the lyrics with the kind of metalcore brutality they throwdown. Bottomline: BURY YOUR DEAD deliver like a punch to the stomach – the impact is swift, deep, and breathless. Check this sucker out.
