BLEEDING THROUGH “Portrait of a Goddess”
Wow – I certainly was not expecting to hear this kind of release from the Indecision Records camp. BLEEDING THROUGH are 100% metal in that Sweedish kind of way mixed in with superfast drumming and crazy double bass. One of the most interesting things about this release is the keyboard backgrounds in the songs that really add a lot of depth. Although the vocals are fairly mundane in style, the tremendous sound is quite operatic with the electronic flourishes. Lyrically, I’m extremely impressed with the dark imagery and poetic offerings, especially on the song, “Wake of Orion.” It obvious that a lot of work was put into the lyrics and was just as much a priority as the sheer brutality of the music. “Portrait of the Goddess” has one of the cleanest sounding recordings I’ve ever heard, and that helps the music strike sharper. Prior to this release, ADAMANTIUM or THROWDOWN claimed the title of heaviest Indecision band, but with six members and an ascendiary intensity level, BLEEDING THROUGH have struck that crown away – and probably decimated a few bodies along the way too.
