HUNDREDTH have made their track “Live Today” available on their Facebook page. The song comes from the band’s upcoming album Let Go, which is set to hit stores on September 27th through Mediaskare Records.

The band is currently on the road as a part of the Over The Limit 2 Tour, alongside Bury Your Dead, Evergreen Terrace, For The Fallen Dreams, In The Midst Of Lions, Thick As Blood, Betrayal, and Murder Death Kill.

- Impressive song, not as good as the “Live Today” by BETTER THAN A THOUSAND, however…

Three Songs From New DIVEBOMB Reissues

HARD KNOX – Feels So Good by divebombrecords

CONFESSOR – The Secret by divebombrecords

IRONCHRIST – World War Three (Crack Party Weekend) by divebombrecords

- Why am I not surprised that a band named HARD KNOX, corny spelling at all is a total glam metal act…

Another New AFICIONADO Song Surfaces

Black Numbers To Release Debut Full-Length From BANQUETS

From the inbox:

Black Numbers (Grey Area, Go Rydell, Static Radio, NJ) will release the debut full-length from Jersey City’s BANQUETS. Entitled Top Button, Bottom Shelf, the LP/CD will see an official releaste date of August 23, 2011.

You can check out the exclusive stream for “Sometimes A Wolf” from Top Button, Bottom Shelf on AbsolutePunk now.

While Banquets’ debut 7″, 2010′s This Is Our Concern, Dude, was very well-received and showed off a wealth of potential, Top Button, Bottom Shelf simply blows all expectations and pre-conceived notions out of the water. The ten songs that make up the band’s debut full-length build and hold the momentum for an incredibly rewarding and all too short 25 minutes. Waiting for some lull or filler to catch your breath is fruitless as the band delivers gem after gem. Of course you can talk of the band’s pedigree, Banquets lead singer Travis Omilian was the original singer for LET ME RUN and other members have played in bands such as OUTSMARTING SIMON, STATIC RADIO NJ, THE STAND IN and THE BANNER, but all that undersells just how quickly Banquets have grown into their very own exciting entity. No doubt the past experiences served them well but Banquets have upped the ante for all melodic pop/punk rock with Top Button, Bottom Shelf.

Stream: SOUTHPAW FAKERS – “2011 EP”

UK pop-punkers SOUTHPAW FAKERS have been gaining traction on the strength of their self-released 2011 EP. The band brings to mind the speed and energy of A WILHELM SCREAM with some of the contemporary emo/post-hardcore influences from contemporaries TITLE FIGHT and TRANSIT. The four songs are a little rough around the edges, but should win you over with their enthusiasm.

Run For Cover Announces “Mixed Signals” Comp For 50th Release

From the inbox:

We’re incredibly excited to announce Run For Cover Records’ fiftieth release, a compilation called “Mixed Signals”.

The compilation marks a special occasion and milestone for the label. After seven years of working with so many incredible people and bands, watching them grow and doing some growing ourselves, we wanted to take this opportunity to show that the independent music community is stronger than ever.

“Mixed Signals” offers a snapshot of the diverse and immense talent in our scene. It brings together new, unreleased and exclusive songs from a list of bands that collectively have released some of the most worthwhile records of the past few years, toured the world, and left an indelible impact on the many they’ve performed in front of.

Run For Cover and these 12 artists have come together to prove that the independent music scene is thriving – and it’s as important as ever.

“Mixed Signals” will be released August 30 on CD, vinyl and digital formats. There won’t be a pre-order for this release. Vinyl and CD formats will be accompanied by a 28-page, perfect-bound black and white booklet with photos, lyrics and liner notes from each band. CDs will be exclusively available from Hot Topic for $4.98, as well as from bands on the road.

Track listing:

  • 01. Polar Bear Club – Killin’ It
  • 02. Balance and Composure – Seahorses
  • 03. Tigers Jaw – Distress Signals
  • 04. Hostage Calm – The “M” Word
