Notable AOL Music/Spinner Streams

- So good to hear you RIVAL SCHOOLS… so glad to have you back…

Video: SILVERSTEIN – “Sacrifice” (Tour Version)

- For a “tour version” video, this one is supremely well done and entertaining. Speaks volumes on why these guys have been so successful while others who have similar sounds so quickly fall off the face of the earth…

Spotlight On: TOTAL F*CKING DESTRUCTION

From the inbox:

TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION disrupts and destroys with the new album Hater, a furious and stylized experiment of post-apocalyptic groove, crushing pedal-to-the-metal grind together with rock, punk, jazz and thrash to form a powerful work of grindcore art.

Recorded and mixed at Mark-it-Zero Music Studios (Brutal Truth, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder, XXX Maniak, Vulcan, Old Head) by Dan O’Hare, Hater is a technical and accurate representation of the poetry of Total Fucking Destruction’s over-the-top message and in-your-face live performances.

- Two new songs “Love Grinder” and “Time Theft” can be heard on their Facebook page. Think of Extremely extreme metal with bonus listenability elements!

EXPLOSIVO! “Lost Album” Available For Streaming/Download/Vinyl Order

From the inbox:

EXPLOSIVO! was a melodic punk/indie/rock band from the depths of Long Island, N.Y. (Featuring guys who would go on to form such bands as: Small Arms Dealer, Iron Chic, Wax Phantom & more). They can be described as “Piebald & Pantera hanging out at Guns ‘N Wankers house.” No shit. They released a CDep, The Uh-Oh E.P. on Rok Lok Records, and recorded a full-length CD titled, If The Devil Had A Guitar, at the Creep Records house before their inevitable break-up sometime around 2001? That album was never released and lost in the sands of time, circulating only through friends, mix-tapes, & bootlegged copies around the world… Until now. Dead Broke Rekerds & Limited Pressing proudly present, one of the best DIY punk albums to ever surface from Long Island. And now you will go deaf…(400 on Mixed color, 100 on Glow-in-dark vinyl). Streaming, download and ordering information is available on this very Bandcamp page.

- Much, much awesomeness involved here. I’ve still got Uh-Oh EP around the house somewhere… and damn, recordings from the Creep House always grab my ears…

Song of the Day: DARKEST HOUR – “Your Everyday Disaster”

- Pure shreddage!

WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY – “The Anarchy And The Ecstasy”

On its own merits, The Anarchy And The Ecstasy is a good WORLD/INFERNO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY record. It’s more jaunty than I was expecting. Here’s why I was expecting anything from WORLD/INFERNO: There was an eight song mastered record called 3 Ring Brain And A Circus Heart that got leaked in 2010, which I listened to [...]

MAN THE CHANGE Streaming New Release; Kickstarter Set Up for Vinyl

From the inbox:

Brooklyn, NY punk-rockers MAN THE CHANGE are excited to announce their newest release, Weather The Storm, is now up for free download at their Bandcamp page. In conjunction, Man The Change have also started a Kickstarter project to fuel the pre-order for the Weather The Storm vinyl LP. For a cool $10 you can pre-order the record and help the band reach their goal.

- Solid stuff, especially on the harder material like “Bowser’s Breakdown”. Reminds me of early LAGWAGON, before those guys figured out that three minute punk rock songs didn’t need 100 jerky tempo changes.

Spotlight On: AXIS

With a hat tip to the Stuck In The Past hardcore blog, the music of Daytona Beach, Florida hardcore band AXIS has gaining some new attention. With a decidedly mid-to-late 90s sound and noted influences from bands like BURIED ALIVE, TURMOIL, and INDECISION, among others, the group’s new four song EP Rites of Passage is a handful of mosh, guitar crunch and vocal howl. The EP is only around 12 minutes, but it definitely packs a punch.
