New Stephen Brodsky Full-Length Announced; Digital and Cassette Only(!)

Prolific songwriter Stephen Brodsky will be releasing his latest solo outing Here’s To The Future on March 16th, via Hydra Head. Notably, the nine song full-length will come in out digital and cassette formats only. According to the label, “the cassette and the digital version come with very extensive booklets filled with Brodskyisms and more!”

- Mmm… Brodskyisms…. The press release issued today that described the new full-length is a bit vague, it’s not 100% clear if digital and cassette are in fact the only formats for Here’s To The Future. The subject line actually says “Limited Full-Length Release,” and I’m not really sure how they swing that with the whole digital format thing – I imagine that it applies only to the cassette, unless maybe they’re brining back those one of those wacky DRM get-ups that only plays a song three times before blackmailing you and holding all of your tax documents hostage before making you fork over the $9.99 to keep playing the music. Or not.

Eulogy Adds ENDER To Roster

From the inbox:

Eulogy Recordings are very proud to announce the signing of New Jersey’s ENDER. Their debut album This Is Revenge was recently recorded at Treehouse Studios (Jersey City, NJ) and produced by Weston Kleinknecht. This Is Revenge will be released on Eulogy Recordings this spring. They are currently planning tours to support the album.

Drummer Danny Lavarco commented “We are very excited to announce that we have signed with Eulogy Recordings. We join the ranks of such great bands they have put out over the years and are stoked to be a part of the Eulogy family. We wanted a label that would absolutely love our band, and Eulogy definitely was the right route to take. We will be announcing a release date for our album soon, and as well as a bunch of tours we are currently working on right now. We will also have a bunch of new merch to go along with it. We are excited to work with John and the rest of the staff over at Eulogy! We thank everyone for their support over the 1 year we have been a band and it’s all because of you guys that this is all happening for us. We can’t wait to get the album out and see everyone on the road!”

Eulogy owner John Wylie added, “ENDER is relentless and determined to be heard. From the first time I heard this band I knew that they were something special. They combine a number of different elements of heavy music to create a band that demands your attention. We are very excited to have them as part of Eulogy.”

STREETLIGHT MANIFESTO’s “99 Songs of Revolution” Out 3/16

According to the label, “99 Songs Of Revolution is a dazzling collection of cover songs from the likes of Paul Simon, The Postal Service, NOFX, The Dead Milkmen, Bad Religion, Radiohead, and many more. This release is a testament to the great artistry that influences them and adds to the vast and unique catalog that this band has in the making.” A full tracklisting is after the jump.

- “Skyscraper” by BAD RELIGION, and “Linoleum” by NOFX are up against some mighty high expectations…

Release of the Day: ROCKY VOTOLATO – “True Devotion”

Somber music that I would hum along to while sweeping away leaves from a porch (if I had a porch)…

Tiny Engines Details EVERYONE EVERYWHERE Release

From the inbox:

Tiny Engines is pleased to announce that it will release the Self-Titled debut full-length from Philadelphia’s EVERYONE EVERYWHERE.

The album, which will be released in vinyl and digital formats on May 04, 2010, is now up for pre-order from the label. Tiny Engines will press 500 12-inches on maroon and off-white colorways (350 / 150). To secure a copy of this amazing record, go here.

The band is currently streaming two brand new songs, “Tiny Boat” and “Blown Up Grown Up,” on its MySpace page.

Everyone Everywhere’s eponymous debut builds on the rock-solid foundation laid down on last year’s dynamic 7″, A Lot Of Weird People Standing Around, and further pushes the band’s sonic palette in exciting new directions at every turn. Sure, those lovely Promise Ring vibes remain – not to mention hints of Braid’s twisting-yet-tuneful angularity, the crackling anti-anthems of indie heroes Superchunk and Piebald’s off-kilter sense of melody – but the Philly four piece has honed its songwriting chops, dialed in its amps and seriously upped the ante with this emotionally taut ten-song affair.

Blood & Ink Signs THIN ICE

Virginia label Blood & Ink Records has signed Texas Christian hardcore band THIN ICE. The group includes members of GOLDMILL and currently have plans to record and release a six song digital EP. Two songs are streaming on the band’s MySpace page.

- The band plays its first show later this month, but there’s nothing unseasoned about the two posted songs. Woah. RIYL: FIGURE FOUR, LIVING SACRIFICE, ZAO.
