CANYONS Streaming/Free Download “The Rufus EP”

Gritty hardcore band CANYONS have their new five song release, The Rufus EP available for free download and streaming via Bandcamp. The Missouri band cites such bands as COALESCE, BLEEDING KANSAS, and AKIMBO as influences (and has the sound to back it up).

TAKE OFFENSE EP Streaming

Double or Nothing crossover hardcore band TAKE OFFENSE have their two song tape EP streaming via Bandcamp, and is also available as a pay-what-you-want download. If you gotta pick one song to check out, listen to the second one, “The Hand of Time,” as it is a scorcher.

The band will be playing a show on December 5th with a seriously insane line-up…

Spotlight On: MOURNINGSIDE A.D.

Orange County, California hardcore band MOURNINGSIDE A.D. are a 90s throwback band (right down to the font used in their logo) that stir in just a bit of metal into their brutish sound. The band has released a new 7″ titled Confessions of Disbelief on Hard Press Records. and music from the EP can be streamed on the band’s MySpace page. RIYL: MEAN SEASON, TAKEN, HARVEST.

OVERSTAND To Record Final EP; Band Morphs Into MAGNITUDE

OVERSTAND will be recording a final four song 7″ EP based on previously unfinished song material. Dates for any future shows are unclear at the present time, but a new group named MAGNITUDE (the page is a bit thin in content right now…) appears to be on the horizon, and includes members of the aforementioned, but CHARGE and FLOORPUNCH.

AGENDA OF SWINE Squeal Out New Track…

Bay area grind/hardcore band AGENDA OF SWINE have a new song titled “Rooted In Spite” streaming on their MySpace page. The song is from an upcoming split 7″ due out next year.  In 2008, the group released Waves of Human Suffering on Relapse Records.

Mammoth Press Showcasing New “Songs of the Week”

Mammoth Press has started a new weekly feature where the site presents streams of four new songs from musical acts that could use an extra boost of attention. The first batch includes tunes from O PIONEERS, FOUNDATION, FRANZ NICOLAY (keyboard player for THE HOLD STEADY), and BALANCE AND COMPOSURE. The streams area available  here.
