SING IT LOUD Stream Come Around

Epitaph pop-rock darlings SING IT LOUD (you know, the one’s like WINGER if they were a bunch of emo dudes and started their band 20 years later) have their debut full-length Come Around streaming on pureVOLUME. RIYL: MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK, ALL TIME LOW, HOUSTON CALLS.

THE MARKED MEN Post New Song

Well this is certainly a pleasant surprise for a Sunday morning. Tejas punks THE MARKED MEN have posted a quick and dirty new track up on their MySpace. Check it out here.

SHIPWRECK A.D. “Abyss”

The one nice thing about being home for the holiday break is being able to use my parent’s audio equipment. Shiny turntable, glistening receiver, and pounding speakers round out the perfect setup to go through the giant pile of CDs and vinyl that have been collecting dust for the past couple of months. I popped [...]

MARATHON

If you have already read my review of MARATHON’s S/T full-length, then this band needs very little introduction. But just to review – MARATHON plays the kind of fast, melodic, and intelligent punk rock that I grew up on, and that still holds a very dear place in my life. MARATHON is fuel for the [...]

The New ENERGY Full-Length Is Awesome

YES! This is what I’ve been waiting for – a melodic hardcore band that can legitimately be compared to a range of bands that include IGNITE, NO MOTIV, VISION, early AFI and WITH HONOR. These guys have been one of Bridge Nine’s most talked-about signings, and rightfully so – Invasions of the Mind will hold a special place in hardcore for 2008.

ATLAS SHRUGGED Reissue We Don’t Stand A Chance

NYHC veterans ATLAS SHRUGGED have pressed their 1997 7″ EP We Don’t Stand A Chance on colored vinyl, and according to the band, only 153 were made. The band began in 1992 and carried on until 1998, and have made reunion appearances since then. The group was heavily influenced by bands like BURN, QUICKSAND, and ABSOLUTION. You can stream six songs from the band’s various items of output on their MySpace page.

LONE WOLF (THROWDOWN, DONNYBROOK, SNAKE EYES) To Release EP

From the inbox:

LONE WOLF was founded in September of 2006 by Bo Thomson (Snake Eyes, ex-Donnybrook) and Adam Riser (ex-Betrayed). After a handful of songs were written, they recruited Nick Trujillo (Snake Eyes, ex-Donnybrook), Mark Choiniere (Throwdown), and Martin Stewart (Terror, Donnybrook).

In June of 2007, they headed into For The Record Studios with Garrett Carroll to track four songs for their debut release titled Hallucinogenic Fate to be released on Words Of War Records. After about 4 days of recording and a 3-month break to tour with their respective other bands, Nick Jett (Terror, Piece By Piece) lended his talents by mixing the songs they had recorded. The final product was then passed off to Paul Miner (New Found Glory, Atreyu, Thrice, Death By Stereo, Throwdown) to master and complete.
