THRICE Posts New Song “Broken Lungs”

Progressive rockers THRICE have added the song “Broken Lungs” to their MySpace page. The tune is from the “Air” portion of their upcoming release The Alchemy Index Vols. III and IV: Air & Water, which will be out on April 15th.

CHUCK RAGAN “Los Feliz”

I can’t say I’ve come across many musical acts who make a live recording their first official release, but if there was anyone from “punk rock royalty” to introduce himself this way, CHUCK RAGAN’s the man. Recorded almost on a whim, Los Feliz is a stirring 12 song set that features Ragan charging through three [...]

1. Before I could even digest TRANIST’s debut EP, the band is already back with a full-length titled This Will Not Define Us. I’ve written about these guys before, and their blend of FAIRWEATHER, CRIME IN STEREO, and SAVES THE DAY influences present one healthy cocktail. Check ‘em out if you haven’t already.

2. Maybe the Mexican government should invest in a loudspeaker blasting OPERATION IVY’s “Unity.”

3. Whatever happened to Punk Voter? And why does it seem like no one is paying attention to the fact that ANTI-FLAG have a new album out next week?

4. I recently picked up RANCID’s relatively new B Sides and C Sides collection, and was shocked to find out that the CD didn’t come with any liner notes whatsoever – just a CD in a digipak. WTF? One would figure that with a band like RANCID, where the group is so steeped in modern punk rock history, the group would show some effort in presenting background info on each song, their recording circumstances, and why they were left off albums, relegated to compilations, etc. I expect better from RANCID…

NOT NOW RIGHT NOW “S/T”

It has been about three years now since I first encountered the New York City-based group KERVIN. At the time, the band [...]
