MOST PRECIOUS BLOOD to appear on BBC 1 Radio tonight

From the band’s Trustkill Journal:

Most Precious Blood will be featured on BBC 1 Radio tonight from 9-11pm on a show called The Lock Up. MPB will be discussing the songs that got them started as musicians as well as playing some of their favourite tracks. You can listen online. Go here… www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/alt/thelockup.

- I have no idea what time zone that is, so it may have already been broadcast, but maybe a recording of the show will appear online somewhere…

Stream tunes from new FULL BLOWN CHAOS disc, “Wake The Demons”

Stillborn Records has posted an e-card with a stream of two tracks from the upcoming October release of “”Wake the Demons,”" the first full-length for metallic hardcore headsmashers, FULL BLOWN CHAOS. These guys take the seething anger of ALL OUT WAR and mash it up with the speed and technical blizzard that is SHADOWS FALL. Not for the faith of heart…

RISE AGAINST post video for “Give it All”

This was probably watched by everyone yesterday when the posting blitz for it occured, but we were busy doing something else… like washing a cat… that doesn’t exist… Anyway, the video is pretty cool, and this is one of my favorite tunes from “”Siren Song of the Counter-Culture.”"

ALLI WITH AN I “I Learned It By Watching You”

I Learned it by Watching You, is chock full of exuberant, traditional pop-punk, that if was bred in New Jersey, rather than North Carolina, would surely be in prized courtship of countless larger labels. However, even with that complimentary note, I find myself having a hard time actually paying attention to any of the individual [...]

I gotta hand it to THE USED’s Bert McCracken…

…whereas so many other band vocalists try to get all cleaned-up and strike their best poses when on the cover of Alternative Press, McCracken still maintains the look of a defiant homeless vagrant.

Trying to catch up on the ridiculous amount of great releases coming out right now playlist…

1. THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES – Oxeneers or the Lion Sleeps when its antelope go home

2. VAUX – Plague Music EP

3. SPLIT FIFTY – We Live Forever (on Hellbent Records, it’s like a rad mixture of old, skatepunk’d AFI and STRIKE ANYWHERE).

4. SHADOWS FALL – The War Within

5. GREEN DAY – American Idiot

New York Times discusses the renting of music via digital subscription services…

Today’s article is a bit all over the place, starting off by noting the soon-to-be-open serivce, VirginDigital.com, and the moving on to what amounts to be a “”state of the subscription service”" run through. It’s unfortunate that the media is already dividing digital distribution into two distinct channels, purchase vs. subscription, where largely, they can both co-exist to match the expectations and demands of the consumer.

Worth nothing is this brief passage in the article: “”The difficulty of explaining subscription plans to consumers is exactly why Apple chose the path it did. ‘Consumers have been buying music for 50 years,’ said Eddy Cue, the vice president of Apple in charge of its iTunes online music store. ‘They want to replicate that experience online.’”" It’s useless to compare purchasing through online stores such as iTunes with purchasing through traditional retail means, and it’s about time these loggerheads stop treating them in an analogous fashion.
