Vending machines are getting more creative by the day

According to an Associated Press story today, “”eMusic live”" is set to introduce their live concert recording kiosk at a New Jersey venue next month. According to the article, the process goes as follows:

“”The technology is quite simple: The music fan goes up to the touch-screen kiosk after the show and buys the keychain drive with a credit card from a dispenser alongside the screen. Once that’s done, the miniature drive is inserted into a slot in the kiosk, and the recording ‚Äî stored as MP3 files ‚Äî is loaded onto the device’s 128-megabyte hard drive. That is enough space for 110 minutes of music.”"

Tentative pricing indicates a one-time charge of $20 for the reusable pen drive, and $10 per each live concert.

Various Artists “Beer: The Movie Soundtrack”

A good soundtrack is always tough to pull off with the varying tensions between cohesiveness, and the desire to supply songs that fit various moods and themes through out the movie. However, when a movie is soley based on the drunken antics one group of guys from Long Island, deciding to set one’s soundtrack to [...]

Beastie Boys news blitz conquers Internet; Pastepunk chooses to just post the friggin’ music

As one may have noticed in the past few days, there’s a lot doing in the BEASTIE BOYS camp after an extended period of hiberation. Just about their entire catalog is now available to check out on iTunes, and there’s a new disc coming out real soon. The first single is “”Ch-Check It Out,”" and you can ch-check it out below (like you didn’t see that word play coming…).

How can a band write a song called “the heart of polka is still beating” and not include a polka based breakdown?!?!

STORY OF THE YEAR and their label, Maverick Records have released a brand new mp3 of the song “”The Heart of Polka Is Still Beating,”" which be a part of the 2004 Warped Tour Compilation, on Side One Dummy, out June 8th. Check out the song at the link below.

Anyone else agree that the band’s vocalist sounds like someone crossbreeded Toby from H20 and Vinnie from THE MOVIELIFE on the vocals of this song? Good stuff.

THE ADORED (don’t seem to lack any self-esteem)

I checked out Nashville’s THE ADORED for the first time earlier today and would like to pass the word along to those elsewhere who are uninitiated with this band’s FOO FIGHTERS meets JIMMY EAT WORLD mix of sounds. The band has five highly enjoyable, smooth sounding tunes up on their purevolume site, and at least one of them should get lodged in your brain upon the first listen.

Limekiln Records signs DC’s RENEE HEARTFELT

We’d like to welcome Renee Heartfelt to Limekiln Records! This D.C. band features members from Count Me Out, American Nightmare [Give Up The Ghost], and Striking Distance, but has crafted a sound all their own.”"

I’ve heard nothing but good things about this band in the past few months, and their EP is pretty kicking. If you haven’t become familiar with Limekiln Records, I highly suggest that you check out their bands – there’s not a weak link on their roster, and especially for fans of DARKEST HOUR, make sure you give LIFE IN PICTURES a listen!
