Spotlight On: DRE CARLIN
After all that noisy tech-metal in the last post, here’s a healthy switching of the gears. DRE CARLIN describes himself as featuring “straight-forward acoustic guitars with punk influenced flourishes”. A four song EP has just been posted on Bandcamp, which includes an AT THE DRIVE-IN cover (“Cosmonaut”). As for comparisons, I kinda hear THE PALE and some early BRIGHT EYES. Carlin’s voice has a bit of trembling to it, but in a convincing and not fake manner. Check it out.
Hey guys, thanks for the awesome review! To any readers out there: I’ve recently released 2 new EPs. A second acoustic punk, named .DC II, which you can download for free at the website.
As well as an EP created specifically to help the Red Cross with their relief efforts in Japan, named .DC: JPN (after the quake 2011) — for less than 17 cents per song. Pretty nifty, check it out!
