Bursts of Thought!!!

1. We’re back after a few days of quiet vacation in the mountains of upstate New York. In case anyone is wondering, when you’re driving through the rural backroads of northern Pennsylvania, and you come across a sign that says “Bridge Out,” they ain’t kidding!

2. Hawaii reggae/ska rockers PEPPER are putting out a new five song EP this October on their own LAW Records. Two new songs are posted on their MySpace page. These songs will instantly put you into a state of relaxation and give you a compulsive desire for a cocktail…

3. Double Cross webzine has posted two great interviews in the past few days: a Part II piece with Bridge Nine’s Chris Wrenn, and a Part I entry with TERROR frontman Scott Vogel. Give them a read.

4. Michigan deathcore band ARBITER have debuted a couple of new songs on their MySpace page from their full-length Colossus. The young band draws comparisons to bands like VEIL OF MAYA, GLASS CASKET, and CARNIFLEX.

5. Josh Homme named his label Rekords Rekords. Dumb. Not so dumb is the label’s upcoming re-release of the first QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE album, in early December, on both vinyl and CD.

6.  After some technical difficulties and an upgrade, the Livewire Message Board is back up and running. No word yet on the upgrade of attitudes from the many 40 year old + hardcore dudes who will take pains to remind you that everything was better before 1986…

7. FULL BLOWN CHAOS will stage their music recording return for January 2011 with the release of a new full-length on Ironclad Recordings. It will be the band’s first swipe of new music since their 2007 Ferret Records full-length Heavy Lies The Crown. The band is back to a five piece, and according to a press release, they are “writing with a more prevalent sound.” I have no idea what that means.
