- As noted by Absolutepunk.net last night, SAVES THE DAY’s pop-punk classic Through Being Cool was released ten years ago yesterday. I remember playing this CD over and over again in my dorm room, and even my New Jersey born techno-rave roommate, found himself totally into it. Like LIFETIME, the band’s main influence in its early years, the band at the time brought a basement show aesthetic with them, even as they played on bigger and bigger stages, and earned more mainstream accolades. Some years ago, I separated the SAVES OF TODAY of ten years ago with the band of today… line-up changes and style-mutations have more or less sliced apart their existence. This video is a great reminder though of how youth and innocence often beat out the benefits of evolving music talent and experience.
